The compact and stylish terminals adapt well to different premises and usage environments, and the lightweight devices are easy to move around. Therefore they are ideally suited for temporary locations, mobile offices and for places where installing landline connection is too expensive or difficult. In addition to voice services, the Nokia and Ericsson PBX Connectivity terminals support GSM data features.
There are also cases when building or maintaining fixed telephone lines is not feasible or even impossible: instead of digging roads or boring holes at historically listed sites, plug in a traditional desk telephone to the Nokia 32 or Ericsson F251 terminal and build a wireless local loop type connection over GSM.
